The Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia is giving guided tours
of the temporary exhibition On the Field: Football – History – Nicosia
to students attending high school.
Through the exhibition, the students will have the opportunity
to discover historical aspects of the sport, as well as important milestones
which contributed to the birth, development and evolution of football.
The primary goal of the tours is for the students to comprehend
the historical dimension of football, which holds a major position in the world of sports,
and at the same time it aims to contribute to the cultivation of the essence of ‘fair play’.
Moreover, the students are invited to experience the museum as a welcoming
and open space, where subjects of their own youthful interests can be appreciated.
The guided tours have been approved by the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth
and will be conducted by Chrysostomos Sakallis, one of the curators of the exhibition
and the Collections Registrar of the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia.
