Since its foundation the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia has been actively involved in the field of museum education, offering a wide range of educational activities on and off location for school groups, families with children and adults. The Museum’s permanent Collections, as well as its temporary exhibitions, act as sources of inspiration. Objects and Collections, integral parts of the long history of the city of Nicosia, are activated, functioning as a starting point for experiential tours and creative interaction.

Our educational programmes and specialised tours are aimed at students of Primary and Secondary Education and are held daily, offering an alternative contact with history and tradition. These educational programmes are approved by the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth.

Educational activities and programmes are also available for families with children. A variety of themes enriched with an air of exploration and individual discovery invite and challenge participants, aiming to deliver quality time for young and old. Since 2022 our Summer School has been running in collaboration with the A. G. Leventis Gallery, providing yet another option for creative activity.

Museum education does not exclude adults. They can choose between lectures, guided tours and special educational programmes and workshops.

With social awareness as a priority, the Museum approaches people with special needs and sensory disabilities. Actions and stations make the Museum accessible and more approachable to all groups of its audience.

Additionally, the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia is not limited to the capital city, since it travels in specialised Museum Kits to schools throughout Cyprus. The Museum also collaborates with the Atsas Educational Center, where special programmes are offered for families in the Solea area.
