The Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia and the Cyprus Broadcasting Cooperation are presenting the documentary produced by the CyBC, 60 χρόνια Ειρηνευτικής Δύναμης σε μια πατρίδα μισού αιώνα κατοχής [60 years of the Peacekeeping Force in a homeland of half a century of occupation]. This history documentary focusses on the mission of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus, one of the longest-serving UN peacekeeping missions in the world. It presents and analyses the arrival of the UN Peacekeeping Force on the island, the creation of the Green Line and the role the Force has played over the past 60 years, as well as the significance of its presence on the island.
The screening of the documentary is organised on the occasion of the Museum’s temporary exhibition Sector 2: Nicosia, which offers, through an innovative museological approach and experience, the story of the Green Line, a line which for 60 years now has been splitting the last divided capital of Europe.
The documentary will be introduced by Mr Thanasis Tsokos, Director General of the Cyprus Broadcasting Cooperation.

On the day of the event, the exhibition Sector 2: Nicosia will remain open from 19.00 to 20.00, offering participants the opportunity to visit it. Additionally, on this day
