How many stories can a small coin hold? Far more than you might imagine!

Inspired by the new temporary exhibition Messages in Metal: A Timeless Dialogue with Cyprus, we invite families to join us for a unique adventure at the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia.

Through an exciting exploration game in the Museum’s new exhibition, children and adults alike will search for coins, decipher the symbols and figures engraved on them and discover how such a small object can tell stories about gods, kings, cities and people who lived thousands of years ago.

Along the way, we will encounter interactive learning stations, observation and discovery games, digital touchscreens and fun challenges that will help us explore the fascinating world of coins. Together we will observe carefully, solve riddles, uncover myths and symbols and discover why coins are such valuable witnesses to history.
