Three Photographic Trails Nicosia: People and Places Part 2: 1950-1960

The second part of the trilogy focusses mainly on photographic material from the 1950s until the early 1960s.

Let’s follow the photographic trail step by step to recognise a city that became Europeanised as it began to adopt new models in laying the foundations of its contemporary version. In this particular period the significant political events brought many photographer–reporters to the island looking to capture with their lens
the developments and the people of Cyprus in a mesh of unprecedented changes.

Official opening (Part 2):
28 May 2024 with two special guided tours (18.00-19.00 and 19.00-20.00) conducted in Greek by the curators of the exhibition,
the Director of the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia, Tzeni Lymperopoulou Savvidou, and the Museum’s Deputy Director, Maria Patsalosavvi.
The famous cocktail of the period 1950-1960, the Brandy Sour, will be served in the Museum’s courtyard throughout the duration of the tours.
