Where are the ‘kalikantzaroi’ (goblins) hiding? Children in action in two museums

29.11.2025
10.15-12.30

Every winter the mischievous kalikantzaroi (goblins of Greek folklore) find a way to sneak into different parts of the world. This year, however… a few of the kalikantzaroi created by the printmaker Hambis have escaped from the Hambis Municipal Printmaking Museum and – poof! – popped up
at the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia!

But don’t worry… they’re not here to cause trouble! These playful little creatures love old objects and have found the perfect hiding spots in the galleries of the capital’s civic history museum. Follow the clues, observe the exhibits carefully and help us discover where they’re hiding, so we can return them safely to their home, the Hambis Municipal Printmaking Museum!

There, the children will take part in a creative printmaking workshop, where they’ll design and print their own Christmas cards inspired by the kalikantzaroi and the history of the city!
