Museums tell stories! Children in action in two museums / Educational programme and creative printmaking workshop

16.05.2026
10.00-12.30

Once upon a time, on the occasion of International Museum Day… a prince and a princess stepped out from the pages of Hambis Tsangaris’s book The Prince of Venice!

Leaving behind the Hambis Municipal Museum of Printmaking, they set off on a journey and, just like in a fairytale, arrived at the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia. There, among the Museum’s Medieval Collections, filled with unique objects, they search for traces of their own era: palaces, vessels, stories and images that remind them of the world they came from.

But they cannot find them on their own… Will you help them? Observe the exhibits carefully and discover medieval Nicosia with them. Then, we will return them
to the Hambis Municipal Museum of Printmaking, where their journey began. Inspired by the story and imagery of the book, the children will create their own fairytale artworks in a printmaking workshop using wooden stamps.
